AUTOIMMUNE ENCEPHALITIS ANTIBODIES
The body creates antibodies for various reasons. One of those reasons is to fight illness or infections. With autoimmune encephalitis, the antibodies created mistake brain tissue as an invader and attack it accordingly.
Antibodies are classified into two types, intracellular and neuronal surface. Basically, this means that the antibody goes within the cell or attaches to the outside of the cell. Each causes similar and different issues.
The reasons for their creation can be caused by a tumor, a teratoma, infection, or bacteria.
